Quiet

What's the perfect balance
Between yelling too much
Or not yelling enough
So that people don't walk over you?
Is it a crime to just want to be nice?
To avoid confrontation
And show everyone a little respect?

Time after time
I find that I'm struggling
To tell you
What's burning inside
A glimmer of hope
That you'll finally see..
Yet I remain quiet.

Natalie Weiss is one of my all time favourite performers. She adds so much emotion into everything she sings and never fails to give me goosebumps. The first couple of bars of this song describe my feelings at almost every point in my life. In my case it's more family related, though. There are some things just better left unsaid, I suppose.

Were the World Mine

Whilst babysitting my nephew the other day at my sister's house, I had just finished the entirety of the 3 seasons of Parenthood available on Netflix, watched 2 episodes of Glee, and was in the mood for a good, unique musical. I had remembered my friend mentioning to me that I would enjoy this musical, and that it was on Netflix. I crossed my fingers and looked it up and voila, there it was. I had no idea what I was getting into when I began the movie, but I really enjoyed most of the music, and anything which is in Shakespearian language is A-OK with me. The Character of Timother was fantastic, his "screw everyone, I do what I want" attitude was encouraging, to say the least. The plot really didn't thicken all too much, like in Bare: A Pop Opera (a very similar musical which I shall most likely blog about in the future) but it was a nice pick-me-up after the heart-wrenching drama I had just finished watching. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is in the mood for a light and romantic musical (gay romance, mind you). Overall I thought it was a delightful musical with decent choreography and better-than-expected acting. I absolutely loved the voices of the actors as well. Interested? Go on Netflix and watch it, you won't regret it.

The Quest

For the passed 6 years my life has been a continuum of struggle between accepting my dreams and facing reality. It wasn't until recently that I realized that I could never be truly happy until I am standing on that Broadway stage, helping people escape from their dreary everyday lives by bringing them into the world of musical theatre in which all things are beautiful and bittersweet. You have never been entertained, and I mean truly entertained, until you have sat in a theatre and seen a girl belting a Stephen Schwarts or Cole Porter tune with all of her being. That may just be my own opinion, but I'll carry it to my grave, along with my Funny Girl vinyl. Come with me on this adventure through the life of the (wannabe) show-boy.
The first step - vocal lessons.
First step - save up money for vocal lessons.

Hello readers...

I realize that this blog has become complete and utter nonsense. It has strayed greatly from its original course. Not to mention that I haven't posted to it in ages. I am going to try to bring it back around to its original purpose. Please bare with me.

Thank you.
xx

Baseball and School.

I just came back from my brothers baseball game an hour ago and when I came home I remembered that I still had algebra, history, science and literature to do! I just finished my algebra and for the rest of the subjects I just have to read. Thank goodness!
Samuel’s game went really well, although he got out twice, his team still won the game. It started out with them winning 5-0 or something around there and then next thing you knew they were loosing 10-5! Once they got up to bat they tied it up then won 11-5. It was probably the best game of Sam’s that I’ve watched yet.

I haven't been posting as much as usual, but I have allot of posts on my Tumblr if you wanna check that out.

Today has been a good day of school. I finished at an actually reasonable time and all I have left to do is study. I just finished eating supper which was delicious we had penne with olive oil and mozzarella balls! It was soooo good! Now I'm sitting around thinking about school... Which is what I've been doing allot lately. It's not that it's really difficult. It's just allot.

Jubilee!

The Sky... it rained almost the whole time Alexandria and I were there. It was just a drizzle though so it was actually nice.

Rodney Atkins

And the band...

Alexx got a setlist!

Me and Alexandria.

It was really fun, we went on this ride that had no seatbelts. You just leaned against the wall and it spun so fast that it pushed you against the wall and it felt like you weighed 1,000 pounds, but at the same time you felt weightless... It's hard to explain, you'd have to go on it yourself. Then we went on a ride that you sat in these chairs, then the chairs start to lift and spin and go up and down and at the same time the whole thing is also going in circles... Kinda like a planet rotating around the sun. Then we went to the Rodney Atkins concert and we got to stand wherever we wanted, so, of course, we stood near the front! Lol! We had a really good time.
